MIchael Qaqish

Michael Qaqish is a leading political and communications advisor who has worked with politicians at the three levels of government. He is a columnist and host of the morning show on Chin Radio Ottawa.

A passionate communicator of Canadian politics, Michael has given speeches to high profile officials including members of the European Union delegation in Ottawa. He has contributed to CBC Radio, CTV National, Talk Ottawa and CFRA.

Michael has interviewed many politicians on his show, including Mayor Jim Watson, Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak, Ontario Liberal Party President Yasir Naqvi and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.

Starting as a volunteer stuffing envelopes and drafting correspondence on Parliament Hill, Michael quickly rose through the ranks and worked for a provincial cabinet minister and Ottawa's deputy mayor.

Born in Toronto, Michael has lived in several countries including Jordan where his father was a family physician. Experiencing first hand the volatile political climate in the Middle East, he was always tuned to current affairs. Michael moved to the political capital in 2002 to earn his undergraduate degree in psychology from Carleton University where he was active in campus politics.

Michael is a certified instructor with the Ontario Tennis Association. He is chair of communications for the Canadian-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an avid community volunteer.
